No-claims discounts from Ukraine and elsewhere — how to transfer your history

Drivers from Ukraine, Belarus or Georgia often pay for OC in Poland like beginners. It doesn't have to be that way — if you can document your claim-free driving.

In short
  • You need an insurance history certificate from your foreign insurer.
  • It must be translated by a sworn translator.
  • Some insurers give a discount — it's the insurer's decision.
  • The certificate usually covers the last 5 years.

Which certificate

A document from your home-country insurer stating the insurance periods, policy numbers, vehicles, and the number and dates of claims. Ideally on letterhead with a stamp.

Step by step

  • Request the certificate from your insurer in Ukraine (often possible by e-mail).
  • Get a sworn translation into Polish.
  • Send us a scan — we'll check which insurers count the history.
  • We'll compare prices with and without it.

Important

If the policy was in someone else's name (e.g. a parent), discounts usually don't transfer. The history must be yours as policyholder or co-owner.
