- From 1.01.2027 the fine for an uninsured passenger car rises to 9,900 zł (minimum wage 4,950 zł).
- Passenger car: 1,920 / 4,810 / 9,610 zł depending on the gap.
- The fine is based on registration alone — driving doesn't matter.
- Most common cause: cancelling the previous owner's policy after buying a car.
- An accident without OC means UFG recourse — repaying the whole compensation.
How the fine is calculated
The fine is tied to the minimum wage (4,806 zł in 2026). For a passenger car it's 2× the minimum wage for a gap over 14 days, 50% for 4–14 days and 20% for 1–3 days (rounded to 10 zł).
Common situations
- You bought a car and cancelled the previous owner's policy but didn't buy a new one.
- You missed an instalment and the insurer ended the contract.
- An imported car was registered without Polish OC.
- The car is unused but still registered.
