- Taxi OC is priced individually and can range from a few hundred to over ten thousand złoty a year.
- Toyota Prius, Corolla and Auris are the most common taxi cars and are priced high in many tariffs.
- Ride-hailing via Bolt, Uber or FreeNow must be declared when buying the policy.
- Comparing many insurers saves the most — taxi prices can differ several-fold.
Why taxi OC is so expensive
- High mileage, mostly in city traffic — more collisions.
- Liability towards passengers.
- Popular models (Prius, Corolla, Auris) have many claims in insurers' statistics — which raises the price for every driver of those cars.
- Some insurers don't insure taxis at all or won't sell them AC.
How to pay less
- Compare many insurers — in taxi there's no single cheapest one for everyone.
- Show your no-claims history, including from abroad (certificate with translation).
- Consider AC mini (theft, total loss, natural events) instead of full AC.
- Ask about instalments — no big one-off payment.
- Several cars? Ask about a fleet policy.
Don't hide taxi use from the insurer
If you buy regular OC but carry passengers via an app, after a claim the insurer will recalculate the premium and demand a top-up. AC, assistance and personal accident cover may not pay at all if the terms exclude taxis. When quoting we always state that the car is used for passenger transport.
Own car or a fleet partner's car
If you drive a partner's car (Bolt/Uber fleet), the partner usually buys the policy — ask for a copy and the excess rules. If the car is yours, you buy taxi OC yourself — and that's where we help.
